A great example of the passion and dedication that is being poured into English wine, Paul Langham is a man on a mission. He is starting to produce wines of real class and quality from his picturesque Wiltshire vineyard. Sensibly choosing to call this blend of Pinot Auxerrois and Reichensteiner his "Estate Blend", it has really impressed at tastings. With pleasant floral aromas on the nose, it is really lively on the palate with fresh fruit flavours and refreshing acidity.

As the popularity of Albariño, Spain's worst kept secret, continues to grow, prices are rising accordingly and I've found it increasingly difficult to find good examples at sensible prices. Clean, citrus flavours on the nose follow through to the palate while taking on board a touch of honey and spice. It is quite a full, rounded example of the variety but it maintains its characteristic crispness and zestiness and just cries out for some quality seafood.

I have to confess I'm not really a Beaujolais man. It's not the lightness of body; it's just something about the distinctive cherry fruit flavour that often turns me off.
This one bucked the trend. Yes, there is plenty of cherry fruit but this is balanced to my satisfaction by some additional hints of raspberry and strawberry. It is clearly well-made, with the fruit tasting deliciously fresh and the finish light and very clean.
